Verve Citroen

Citroen is one of the iconic French makes of car which is noted not only for its style and value for money but also for the many unique technologies developed specificaly for the marque. Now part of the Peugeot Citroen Group, the company was first established as a car maker in 1919, Andre Citroen introducing many new and innovative automotive developments over the following decades, including the first all-steel car body in 1928, front wheel independent suspension, front wheel drive and a unitary body with no separate frame. In 1933, Citroen also introduced a passenger car with the first commercially available diesel engine. Perhaps the most famous product from Citroen in the post second world war era was the cult car, the 2CV ( 2 fiscal horsepower or in French – Deux Chevaux – two horses ! )

Now in the 21st Century, Citroen remains very much in the vanguard of technological development whilst retaining and developing the famed and unique self-levelling hydraulic suspension system. The Citroen C2, C4 and C6, C8 and the Citroen Grand C4 Picasso Xsara and Xsara Picasso remain firm and popular favourites as undoubtedly the newly introduced Citroen Nemo will soon prove to be.
