About Verve

Welcome to Verve – the fastest-growing and most progressive automotive retailer in the country. Who says so? ... well, why not judge for yourself.

Our business was launched on the 4th December 1998 with 2 dealerships – Dalmarnock Road in Glasgow and Wishaw in Lanarkshire. Both of these dealerships hosted the VW franchise and we additionally had a VW van centre located at our Glasgow dealership. Our ambition saw us add the additional franchises of Suzuki, Hyundai and SsangYong, the Korean SUV manufacturer.

Next in 2007 came two further Volkswagen dealerships – Harper and Hebson in Carlisle and Bradford in Dumfries. Then recently, we added the former "Motorway Cars" dealerships in Bathgate, Coatbridge and Lanark, bringing Peugeot, Citroen and Kia to our franchise portfolio. Finally to wrap up a busy year, we incorporated Bickets of Kilmarnock into our group adding a further 6 franchises to our war chest – Chrysler, Jeep, Dodge, Mazda, Fiat and Seat. From a staff complement of 232 in 1998 – we have now grown to over 500 people in 9 locations including our bodyshops in Lanarkshire and Kilmarnock. And our ambition is a journey – not a destination. We intend to become stronger and better at everything that we commit to do.

So how do we do what we do?

Firstly – We have a hard-won, well deserved fund of customer trust and good-will and we expect everyone within out company, from Managing Director to Apprentice Technician, to guard this fund with great care. The importance of the 'Verve Customer Experience' cannot be overstated. Every customer – in ever contact with our business – must consider their experience of us to be excellent.

Secondly, Verve is innovative, enthusiastic and is never slow to adopt good, new ideas. We have embraced the e-technology revolution with energy and enthusiasm and advanced information and communication systems are now an integral part of every area of our business.

Thirdly, we are environmentally responsible. Verve is committed to conducting everything that we do with proper regard for the environment, recognising that good environmental practice is good business practice.

Reduce, reuse and recycle are the environmental watchwords for all of us at Verve

And we are actively involved in community and charity work in those areas where we have based our operations, providing sponsorship, charity promotions, cash donations and vehicle-lend provisions to worthwhile causes.

Next, there are our people – the key element in Verve's continuing success. We unreservedly invest in training and development. We have a strong commitment to equal opportunities and believe that everyone benefits from a fear-free working environment where respect for the individual is actively encouraged.

Then, there is the super-glue that binds all of us at Verve together – no matter where in the Group that we work or what job that we are tasked to do; it's called our culture – and it is formed from our founding company values – the very definition of "Verve" – spirit, vigour, enthusiasm, - with honesty, integrity and professionalism added for good measure.

And finally, - there is you – our customer. In servicing our customers, we ask more of ourselves than anyone could reasonably expect. Raising the bar. Going the extra mile. Making things happen rather than standing by and waiting for them to happen. Doing whatever it takes to create an exceptional shopping experience for our customers. In both sales and service. Believing that "have done" is better than promising that we "can do".
